I remember thinking to myself, "I can't believe people would dress up their dog. That is so weird and I'm sure the dogs hates it." I actually would scoff at people that put tutus on their dogs and photographed the humiliation. And here I am, 2 years later, with an Instagram dedicated to my dog who wears everything from backpacks to bumblebee outfits. I'm officially "that person." And damn proud of it. Because look how freaking suave Ender looks in his bow ties. 

I was recently approached by the company Shop Silly Buddy to take some photos of my pups in their bow ties. I was shocked. I had been following their company for a while but hadn't bought one because I'm broke and couldn't justify spending money on accessories for my dog. (Tragic) So when they asked Ender to do some modeling I was absolutely ecstatic. It was unexpected and terribly flattering.
I picked the herringbone bow tie (above) and the Rifle Paper Co. floral printed bow tie (below) I wasn't expecting much, honestly. I have seen some dog bow ties that are terrible quality and would likely be destroyed after a few wears and expected nothing different from SSB. I was mistaken. As I unwrapped these gorgeous pieces I could feel the quality and was shocked! Every person who has seen them and held them have also been shocked by them. They are stunning, hold their shape, and are sized perfectly.

Seriously, if you're in the market for a bow tie, this is the place to get it. They have a huge selection of prints to choose from and you can buy them alone or with a matching collar. The bow tie has elastics on the back and can slip over any collar you might have. 

I can't help but take pictures of my pups wearing these beautiful bow ties. Shop Silly Buddy hasn't asked me to write anything about them, I honestly couldn't help myself. They are too wonderful not to talk about. Just like with Ender's backpack, if I love a product I'm going to talk about it. These bow ties are no different. I'm absolutely in love with them. I've received a lot of questions about Ender's pack and I cannot believe its taken me this long to write about an item that I love so much. Groundbird gear is a small company with a passion for high quality products. Originally designed for thru-hiking, these packs are not only gorgeous and completely customizable, they are also unbelievably durable! When I started searching for a pack last summer, I couldn't find anything that was worth the cost; the packs I looked at ranged from $190 to 250$. but I was worried about them slipping around on my pups back or fitting uncomfortably around his oddly-shaped body. Having a lovely concoction of a mutt (Rhodesian Ridgeback/Staffy/Amazingness) makes finding dog gear difficult sometimes. I didn't want to spend 200$ on something that may or may not fit right. Then I found Groundbird gear. This company is almost too good to be true and has completely changed our hiking lifestyle. For 170$, I got a harness sewn to Ender's measurements, and a pack with colors of my choice! I loved it so much that I convinced my friend to get one for her mutt (Golden Retriever/Greyhound/Pure Bliss), and now these two are the cutest hiking duo around. They are constantly complimented on their packs while we are on the trail, and I always make sure to express how amazing these packs are. 

Ender is sporting the Trekking Roll Top pack in Forest Green and Dark Red Wine. Riley has on the Weekend Zipper Top Pack in the Americana color scheme. The zipper pack is really nice to get in and out of, but I personally like the look of the roll top better. One of my favorite things about these packs is how well they stay on. These two pups romped in the grass, wrestling, sprinting, and chasing one another for 30 minutes, and the packs weren't even close to coming off. They stay perfectly balanced on the dogs back--keeping the weight evenly distributed--which prevents the dogs from hurting their backs. I can't emphasize enough how much I love these products. It’s worth mentioning that Groundbird Gear didn't ask me to write anything about them, I just love this company so much that I couldn't help it. So I obviously had too much fun doing a little photo shoot of my guys but who can blame me!? They are adorable in their new coats! These gorgeous Billy Wolf coats have been the everyday wear this winter season.
I never thought I'd be one of those dog moms that wants to dress their pup up in shirts, jackets and hats, but here I am 1 short year later, spending my down time checking out my favorite doggy apparel stores online and being a sponsor for a small company. I still, however, can't get myself to buy all the things that I want. I usually think that most of the things are a bit overpriced or I feel like I should just make the things on my own, but these coats were another story. I originally found the Cassidy Coat that Ender is wearing and I HAD to get it. I was actually in Australia when I found it and tried to order online but they were out of Ender's size. I emailed them asking when they were thinking of restocking, they responded saying they weren't planning on restocking and I was a bit crushed. UNTIL, they emailed me again and found a coat in the size I wanted at a store in Oregon that sells their products! They connected me with the manager there and got it to me! I thought that was some pretty amazing customer service. 
I got home from my trip, said my hello's to the family, then ripped open the package from For Paws and put the jacket on Ender. I couldn't help but laugh at how adorable he was in the jacket and thought that it was unfair that our senior dog, Chase, didn't have one as well. I hopped online, bought Chase his jacket, and now I'm completely sold on this wonderful company. I've gotten a lot of compliments when we are out on our walks and have even steered a couple of people towards the company. If you're looking for a good quality jacket that looks great and is American made, Billy Wolf is the way to go.
